Located at Top Didj and Art Gallery, the Cultural Experience offers a genuine Aboriginal experience where you sit and listen to Manual Pamkal, who talks about living the traditional way as a young boy and Aboriginal contemporary life today. Next Manuel will show you how to paint a Rarrk (cross-hatching) painting using a reed brush (Jalk). You then get to try your hand at fire lighting and spear throwing with a woomera. Manuel is now a TV star. He appeared in the Australian Story “Call the Doctor” broadcast on 25th February. The story tells the unlikely friendship of Manuel and Dr. Tim Duncan. You can find out more about this unlikely friendship by watching the show on Youtube. Manuel is also the face of AATKings “Inspiring Journeys” brochure. They felt Manuel provided an authentic aboriginal experience to their guests where they could meet a true local on a personal level. Also, you get the chance to get close and personal with wallabies. You can select from a large range of didgeridoos, authentic Aboriginal artwork, boomerangs, carvings, and souvenirs. Top Didj is committed to promoting Aboriginal art in an ethical way.
